Presidential Ramblings:

As I am writing this, we are in the mist of a very busy time for sportsmen and sportswomen. The fishing season is quickly coming to a close and the states moose hunt is just getting underway. We have completed the first part of a three part bear season and archery season for deer is opening. With all of these important events going on I’m not sure when I will find time to work. I wish all of you luck in the woods this season.

This is also a busy time for the club. This year’s gun show has come and gone already and thanks to Charlie Rumsey, we had another successful show. I would like to take a minute to recognize Charlie and all of his time and effort that goes into this show. The gun show is one of our major fund raisers and if not for Charlie and all of his contacts we would not be anywhere nears as successful as we are. I would also like to thank all of you who helped at the show. If it were not for all of the volunteers, the show would not run as smoothly as it does. Also at the show we were also able to sign up nearly 50 new members for the NRA. That is a fantastic number and those promoting the memberships at the door should be commended for their efforts.

Supper Meeting: Oct 5th at 6:00 P.M.

PLEASE NOTE: As stated at the end of last season, the dues for the 2006 – 2007 membership must be paid before the start of the supper meeting. Anyone attending the supper meeting who has not paid will be required to pay the dues before purchasing a meal ticket. As a reminder, the dues are $25.00 for the year. As of Oct 30th anyone who is not current with their dues will be placed on an inactive list and will not longer receive a newsletter and will be required to pay the new member fee of $35.00 to be reinstated as a current member.

The supper will be smothered beef with all the fixings and the speaker will be our very own Paul Uttormark. Paul will be talking about the history of the club and some of the specific facts he discovered while documenting our history.

Club Activities:

The annual camp breakfast will be held at the camp on October 7th. Breakfast will be served from 6:30 A.M. until the cooks get tired.

We will be hosting a hunters breakfast this year for the first time. Nancy Hatch has taken on this project with the help of some of the other members. If you would like to help her in the kitchen please let her know. If you are unable to help, please try to attend as it should prove to be a good time. The date Nancy has picked is Nov 18th and breakfast will be served starting at 4:00 A.M.

Tony Richards is heading the big deer contest again this year. If you have not done so, see Tony to get signed up. You need to be in the contest prior to harvesting your deer.

Charlie will be holding this season’s first fun shoot on Oct 29th at the clubs range. The shoot will be the Pepsi challenge, hope to see you there.
