Presidential Ramblings:
By: Jay Munson

Well last month I said we had finally made it to spring. I admit I might have jumped the gun just a bit. I guess the only thing I can say about the weather is that it can only get better. It is hard to believe Turkey season is only about a week away. Hopefully you have all had a chance to get out there and scout out a long beard. Please don’t forget, the most important scouting you can do is scouting for permission. Be an ethical hunter and ask the landowners for the privilege to hunt on their land.

Spring fishing is already here and although the weather hasn’t cooperated with use yet, it will have to turn sometime (I hope). With the snow quickly leaving and the streams running fast, break out the turkey gun or the rod and reel, grab a friend or family member and get out there and do some fishing and hunting.

Special Note:
Please don’t forget the Wild Game Banquet is being held here at the club house this Sunday April 22nd at 6 P.M. Tickets will be sold at the door. Please plan on attending as this is a great fund raiser for the students at the University of Maine in Orono.

Supper Meeting: May 3rd, 6:00 P.M. at the clubhouse

The meal of the evening will be smothered beef

Hope to see everyone there.

Club Activities:

The club yard sale is being held on March 28th in the club house. If you have not done so, please get you donations to the club before the 28th. There will be someone at the club the evening of Tuesday the 24th and also all day Friday the 27th. If you have items to donate and can not get to the club, call the club and leave a message, someone will call you back to make arrangements to pick up your items.

Again, as I mentioned before, we will be holding a golf tournament this summer. We have set the date for August 11th at Pine Hill Golf Club. I will be asking for help procuring both hole sponsors and prize donations.
