Presidential Ramblings:
By: Jay Munson
It’s hard to believe, but here we are heading into March and none to soon given the current cold snap we have had the past month. We are coming up on one of the busiest times for the club and I am hoping all of you will be able to donate a little of your time to make the up coming fundraisers a success.
Woody Higgins and Nancy Hatch have done the lion’s share of the work for the upcoming Sportsman’s Show and Deane Smith is heading up the yard sale. If each one of you can help just a little bit at both of these events, it would lighten the burden of those who have given so much of their time already.
Supper Meeting: March 1st, 6:00 P.M. at the clubhouse
The meal this month will be a New England boiled dinner with corned beef. We will be hearing from the University of Maine scholarship recipients.
Hope to see everyone there.
Club Activities:
As I stated before, the Sportsman Show is just around the corner. As of this time, it looks like the show is pretty much full. We will need volunteers to sell door tickets, food, raffle tickets and people to watch the doors. Please see myself or Woody to give us your available times to work.
We are going to try a new fundraiser this year. Deane Smith is heading up a yard sale to be held at the club April 28th. We are looking for donated goods to sell in this yard sale. The goods should be clean and in good working order. We are trying to keep the clothing donation to a minimum as the average pants, shirts and skirts or not big sellers. If you have clothing of interest (wool jackets, pants or other hunting clothes) feel free to donate them.
Please contact Deane for more information on where and when to bring your donations in or in some cases have your donations picked up.
Again, as I mentioned before, we are also looking to hold a golf tournament this summer. We will be discussing this more as the time draws closer.
